Check out the NEW, Emerson 50

For nearly two decades, RYA has been dedicated to preserving the roots of Rocket Yoga while evolving the practice. We have been softly rebranding to Emerson yoga over the past 5 years to differentiate between trademarked rocket yoga and our own brand based on 26 years experience instructing rocket yoga to the masses.

This summer, we are excited to offer Emerson 50 — an advanced continuing education yoga training designed for yoga instructors and dedicated practitioners ready to deepen their understanding of Rocket Yoga, Ashtanga Yoga, hands-on assisting, and creative sequencing.

Taking place June 26th–30th in Cincinnati, Ohio at Yoga Ah Studio, this immersive 50-hour yoga continuing education program is inspired by the original Rocket Yoga teacher trainings, while offering a more comprehensive and modern approach to movement education and teaching methodology.

Led by Amber Jean, Emerson 50 combines over twenty-six years of teaching experience, international workshops, and decades of working with thousands of yoga teachers through 200-hour and advanced yoga training

This training is rooted in the foundations of classical Ashtanga Yoga while expanding into the creativity, accessibility, and freedom that Rocket Yoga is known for. Students will begin with a review of traditional Ashtanga principles and then dive deeply into Rocket Yoga sequencing, transitions, inversions, modifications, assists, and intelligent cross-training techniques.

One of the goals of Emerson 50 is to help teachers learn how to make advanced and challenging poses more accessible for real students in real bodies. Rather than focusing only on performance, this training explores how to teach safely, creatively, and effectively while still honoring the energetic spirit of Rocket Yoga.

Throughout the five-day immersion, students will explore:

Classical Ashtanga Yoga review

Rocket Yoga sequencing and methodology

Cross-training techniques for inversions and arm balances

Intelligent mobility and strength work

Hands-on assists and therapeutic adjustments

Accessible approaches to advanced postures

Creative sequencing and class development

Teaching methodology and confidence building

Breathwork, philosophy, and energetic practices

How to create your own Rocket-inspired classes

This Cincinnati Rocket Yoga training is ideal for yoga teachers looking to expand their offerings, refine their teaching skills, and reconnect to the roots of authentic Rocket Yoga while learning modern tools for longevity and accessibility.

Emerson Yoga has always been about honoring lineage while allowing the practice to evolve. The Emerson 50 training reflects that philosophy — blending the intensity and creativity of Rocket Yoga with intelligent movement education, therapeutic understanding, and decades of real-world teaching experience.

Emersons Rocket Vinyasa

Emersons Rocket Vinyasa

5 Day Training
50 hours
With Amber Jean who studied the Rocket with Larry from 2000-2011 and developed Advanced Teacher Training at her studio in Cincinnati, Yoga ah. Originally the Rocket was part of Larry’s 200 hour training. In this “get you there faster format” we will review the 200 hour material and focus on understanding how to safely sequence more advanced Vinyasa and Ashtanga yoga classes. Amber makes Rocket yoga fun and accessible as she has been instructing some of her students Rocket Yoga for 20 years. Yoga is meant to be therapeutic, and help you study yourself so you can improve different aspects of your life. It's also meant to be fun, Larry was the king of bringing humor into his classes. He was known as the “bad man” and he believed that you had to stay connected to the practice for many, many years to experience all the benefits of having an Ashtanga based practice. After all Pattabi Jois told Larry that “all is coming 25 years”.

Real Talk!! What it means to be a rocket yogi, practitioner and facilitator...

Real talk!

Let’s talk about what it means to be a rocket instructor, practitioner or trainer. The rocket was never meant to be an exclusive practice operated by one organization. I have been personally practicing and teaching rocket for 22 years! Way before any trademark claims. Anyone who is serious about practicing rocket should seek out to study with Larrys direct students. Each one of Larrys students have different pearls of rocket wisdom to share. Me personally, being one of the oldest students to offer rocket, I have taken 100’s of classes from Larry Schultz and assisted him in trainings for over a decade.

My pearls are that I facilitate old school rocket, as well as use *Schultz Training Techniques in my trainings. I understand that yoga evolves organically to meet the needs of the students and that’s why I developed *Bottle Rockets

Rocket is a COMMUNITY of many teachers and many students, my dream is to carry the rocket legacy as Larry Schultz would of wanted. Through the trainings, the classes and stories Larry lives. If you cut out part of the story or limit yourself to one way of rocket you are limiting your own potential to grow and develop.

For the past 22 years I have dedicated my life to the rocket every day, through my writing, developing a solid rocket training, and teaching to the masses. This has been a labor of 💕 love .

I am reaching out for support for my upcoming visit to London where I’ll be offering 8 days of in person rocket classes, workshops and trainings. Art of Sequencing Workshop with Amme and Amber Jean-Marie

It’s time to press reset June 12th-19th @triyogauk Information on London Rocket Training

I believe we, Amme and I will be teaching out of the Shoreditch studio. If you want to get a feel for my teaching I’m offering a Rocket 3 on Zoom this Friday also through Tri Yoga, 6-8 London time. If you can’t make the class it will be recorded! Rocket 3 on Zoom

Let’s do this everyone! Share, support, register, these trainings in Shoreditch may become part of a legacy that YOU want to be a part of and possible my most important work to date. Lots of love 🌈🌈🌈 and remember we are a COMMUNITY AND ALLIANCE that supports ALL rocket yogis and new yogis regardless of your background. This is INCLUSIVE #rocketyoga #rocketyogalondon
